Mass Spectrometry School in Biotechnology and Medicine, Dubrovnik, Croatia

From 5 to 10 July 2026, the MSBM Summer School will take place at the Centre for Advanced Academic Studies, just outside the historic city walls of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.

The programme combines lectures, workshops, and tutorials, and participants are invited to present a research poster. Designed for attendees from a wide range of scientific backgrounds, the summer school includes a core syllabus that is covered each year.


Core topics include: Mass spectrometry fundamentals and major mass analyser types, including ToF, ion traps, quadrupoles, and FTMS, ionisation methods such as ESI and MALDI, Ion mobility techniques, separation methods including LC, CE, HILIC, and fractionation, tandem MS approaches, including CID, ECD, UVPD, SRM, MSn, DDA, and DIA, integrated MS systems such as LC-ESI-QToF and IMS-MS/MS, proteomics, including bottom-up, top-down, and quantitative strategies, other omics fields, including lipidomics, metabolomics, and glycomics, MS data processing and informatics. MSBM 2026 will be taught by leading international experts, including: Laura Bindila, Garry Corthals, David Goodlett, Ron Heeren, Ryan Kelly, David Kilgour, Ljiljana Pasa-Tolic, Saer Samanipour, Lekha Sleno, Victor Spelling, Harry Taylor, and Yury Tsybin.
